It’s been the subject of much fashion gossip over the past few weeks, but this morning confirmed the news that Peter Copping would be joining the American fashion house as creative director.

Copping, who recently left his role as artistic director at , will report directly to de la Renta (who will continue to oversee the design aesthetic), in a move that de la Renta hopes will help guide his brand into the future.

Speaking to WWD de la Renta said of the appointment, ‘I'm very happy that Peter has agreed to join us. He is a great talent and along with our shared design sensibilities, we both have a deep curiosity about the wider world, from music and art to architecture and gardens’

We can’t wait to see the results at next season’s autumn/winter 2015 show in New York.
