The fashion brand tiptoed into London with a pop-up shop in Covent Garden last October. Now it’s coming back in a bigger way, putting the finishing touches on a 4,000-square-foot shop in Sloane Square that’s set to open in September.
In other Kate Spade news, the brand just announced that it has created a capsule collection of lip colour in collaboration with Lipstick Queen founder Poppy King.
‘We see [lipstick] as the perfect finishing touch,’ said Deborah Lloyd, creative director of Kate Spade New York. ‘It just felt right. This isn’t about a wholehearted jump into the colour cosmetics space — our girl wears lipstick, and we want to provide it for her. And Poppy is such a Kate Spade brand girl — she just got what we wanted to do. These colours are whimsical and fun and very us.’
The concise line of four shades which are lipstick/lip gloss hybrids—Pop Art Pink, a light pink; Bashful Blush, a sheer nude; Fuchsia Fete, a sheer fuchsia, and Adventurous Red, a sheer red – has been given the tongue twisting title ‘Supercalifragilipstick’. The lipsticks will sell for $24 (around £15).
