The setting for David Neville and Marcus Wainwright’s Rag & Bone show may have been dark and drafty, but proved all more the reason to appreciate the terrific Autumn Winter 2012 collection of exquisitely-layered separates they presented. The English tailoring, once again, was evident in the details—but this time the duo made a pit stop in India.

Fitting for the countryside were the floral motifs cut into jackets, jodhpurs and dresses, not to mention cosy striped blanket coats. Where the designers truly succeeded was in their embarking of new territory via metallic fabrics translated into stunning pantsuits and sweater dresses—never once missing a beat as they navigated the challenge of melding elements.

The Rag & Bone mentality of layered chic is an art that has evolved into a controlled process that at once feels nonchalant yet sophisticated. Simply put, these are the cool kids’ clothes.
