Ralph Lauren's show yesterday on the final day of New York fashion week looked to the Wild West. Literal looks of saddle suede spat pants and fringed waistcoats sat alongside Victoriana high-necked dresses, silver lame shifts and suede shorts. Hobo bags and raw edge sandals finished off the looks. A strapless soft satin lame gown with billowing pin tucks worn with a brown leather belt completed the show.
Despite a lone inspiration on the New York schedule, Lauren ticked off many of the recurring trends seen so far. Top-to-toe white, arts and crafts and floorlength are tipped to be common themes for next season.
