Rich List gets fashionable

The fortunes of fashions high-flyers have continued to climb in 2011, with retailers rising in the latest Sunday Times Rich List.

Topshop owners Sir Philip and Lady Green built their fortune by £95m this year, with an estimated net worth of £4.2bn placing the couple 13th in the overall list of the wealthiest people in the UK.

David and Victoria Beckhams £165m put them in 420th place. The stylish and savvy couple saw their fortune rise £20m on the back of the strength of Victorias fashion brand. Tamara Mellon rose from 648 to the 457th spot as profits at Jimmy Choo trebled. Shes worth £150m.

And someone owes us a thank you for all that lunchtime shopping. ASOS founder Nick Robertson boasted one of the most dramatic surges in personal affluence on the annual wealth index. His fortune rocketed 228% to £177m, putting the e-tail entrepreneur in 389th place.

Meanwhile, US financial magazine Forbes just released its list of the worlds highest-earning supermodels. Gisele Bundchen, worth $45m, maintained her top spot in the definitive ranking. Heidi Klum, Kate Moss, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio round out the top five.
