Last night, positively beamed as she threw open her own set of doors, professionally speaking, for the first time. Little wonder; her new store, at 9 Mount Street, London, has been a long time in the making.

Here are five essential things you should know about it...

  1. It's called Roksanda. Just Roksanda. The dropping of the designer's oft-misspelled surname, Ilincic, is a purposeful rebranding that will see the label into the future.

  2. It's located on the hottest shopping spot in London right now. , whose own boutique is a couple of doors down, called into the party to welcome Roksanda to the neighbourhood.

  3. The store itself is three stories, 2500 square ft of Grade 2 listed Edwardian building, made gloriously modern by renowned British architect David Adjaye. (God, that flooring!)

  4. The boutique will stock each of Roksanda's mainline collections along with Nicholas Kirkwood for Roksanda shoes, Noel Stewart for Roksanda hair accessories and her childrenswear collection, Blossom. There's also a VIP bit in the basement for private and bridal appointments.

  5. The launch coincided with the announcement that Eiesha Bharti Pasricha has joined the board as a minority investor 'with a long-term view to aid in the brand’s development and expansion globally'. So we're expecting news of boutique number two imminently...
