The two stylish ladies may be working on a collection aimed at women in the 20-50-year-old demographic, Fashionista says, citing a Chinese whisper-like chain of other sources. There’s no whiff of a specific motivation, potential launch date or name for the project.

If wishing were enough to make something come true, VB and SJP would be cutting patterns in a studio as we write. But we can think of plenty of reasons that this collaboration is slightly less likely to come to pass than, say, another Spice Girls reunion.

For one thing, there’s the fact that Beckham already has and She values brand integrity above all, and having worked so hard to revamp her reputation from Posh to posher, doesn’t seem likely to dilute that by adding a collaborative project to her stable of brands. Plus, Parker, burnt by her experience with Halston, may not be prepared to step back into the fashion fray.

Or maybe she is ready, and views Beckham as the ideal partner. We can picture it now: fluffy tutu dresses with sinuous exposed zips down the length of the back, silk flowers and cat prints on everything, statement headpieces galore. It could be big...
