Yet, despite not sleeping for 24 hours, London Fashion Week designer Mary Katrantzou prised herself away from her atelier to collect her Next young designer of the year award at the ELLE Style Awards this week, and gave us a sneak preview of what we can expect from her highly anticipated autumn 12 collection.
"I haven't slept for the last 24 hours because we had a print deadline for our show," she said. Read - print is still on the design agenda, good news because Katrantzou is best known for her vibrant bright and opulent print work. Her spring 12 burst of florals caused a serious stir last season, but the blooms are being banished for an all together more autumnal theme this season.
"There will be no floral blooms because it's winter now, it's a collection that is a little bit different in terms of the way colour is blocked and how I present the collection."
