It’s happening! After months of vague promises and statements of intent, American high street fashion powerhouse J.Crew announced that it will launch online shopping for the UK at the end of August.
The news came tagged onto an email publicising the appointment of a UK PR agency—a sure sign that the company is serious about making an entrance into the British market.
J.Crew started as a mail-order clothing company in 1983. In recent years, under the leadership of CEO Mickey Drexler and Creative Director Jenna Lyons, the brand has solidified its style credentials with fashion-forward collections and accessible quality. It’s as beloved in the US for basics like its perfect-fitting t-shirts as for premium items, like Italian leather boots and sequinned party dresses.
Although Net-A-Porter has carried selections from the brand’s offering since last May, opening www.jcrew.com represents the first time that UK shoppers will have access to its entire range. We’re filling our shopping bags... see you online!
