Stefano Pilati said he was looking forward to 'lots and lots and lots of vacation' after leaving Yves Saint Laurent in March. The designer's months-long furlough may be drawing to a close, with reports that he is poised to join menswear group Ermenegildo Zegna.

Pilati is said to be joining the Italian fashion group, which manufactured some of YSL's menswear during his tenure as designer, in an unknown capacity, reported WWD. Zegna executives are expected to be on the cusp of an announcement about Pilati's role.

Pilati received a standing ovation at the end of his autumn winter 2012 show for YSL, the culmination of eight years at the fashion house.
