Stella McCartney was the most searched fashion label on Google in 2012.
The search engine puts together an annual list of the fastest growing and most popular search terms throughout the year, capturing who and what has caught the world’s attention, according to what the world searches for on Google.
The British designer reached the top of the fashion section of the list after a year in the headlines, designing Team GB’s Olympic uniforms, dressing everyone from Kylie Minogue to Cameron Diaz, producing two critically acclaimed collections and winning not one but two British Fashion Awards. Not bad for a year’s work.
Next in the top ten was Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld, who has just showed the brand’s impressive annual Metier d'Arts collection, followed by lingerie giants Victoria’s Secret, whose popular catwalk show gets worldwide attention.
