British couturier Nicholas Oakwell’s spring-summer 2012 show at Claridge’s on Thursday evening drew inspiration from the archives of jewellery house Grima.
The designs encapsulated a jewellery box-worth of crystalline hues, with citrines, emeralds and sapphires drawing the eye.
‘Last season was more romantic, whilst the pieces of Grima's that inspired me were Modernist and much lighter,’ Oakwell said. ‘His use of materials and texture are reflected in this collection.’
