All the big names in American fashion are set to be celebrated, but there are a couple of Brits who have made the cut too. Celine's Phoebe Philo is going to take home the award for International Design. And the Daily Telegraph's Hilary Alexander will receive the much-deserved Eugenia Shepphard award for media, given to 'a writer, photographer, or editor who has used his or her craft to further the profession of fashion reporting and coverage.'
So which designers will be fighting it out on 6 June? Marc Jacobs, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler and Alexander Wang will be battling for the coveted Womenswear Designer of the Year award, and they've all been nominated in other categories too - the Proenza Schouler boys and Alexander Wang have been chosen alongside Reed Krakoff for the Accessory Designer of the Year category. And Marc Jacobs is set to be honoured with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
In the Swarovski awards for rising stars Alexander Wang has bagged himself yet another nomination thanks to his debut menswear collection - he's in the running alongside Phillip Lim and Robert Geller in the men's designer category. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen must be celebrating, having been nominated with Prabal Gurung and Joseph Altuzarra in the women's category. And the new accessory designers to watch are Alejandro Ingelmo, Pamela Love, Eddie Borgo and Jason Wu.
And finally we can guarantee a serious fashion moment at June's ceremony thanks to the addition of Lady Gaga to the guestlist - the pop star has been awarded this year's Fashion Icon Award.
