Introducing Karl Lagerfeld’s muse du jour: Tilda Swinton.

The designer has shot the statuesque beauty for the new Chanel Métiers d'Art campaign.

The collection, fashion fans will recall, was presented in Scotland last December at Edinburgh’s Linlithgow Palace.

‘Tilda perfectly embodies the Paris-Edimbourg collection,’ says Karl. ‘She is of course Scottish, but more than that she is a modern woman, a timeless icon of elegance.’

We couldn’t agree more – and we can’t wait to see beyond the shoot image released by , above, when the campaign breaks later this year.

Fortunately, there’s plenty more new coming from Chanel to sustain us in the meantime. Next up: the label will present its collection at Paris Fashion Week next Tuesday. Be sure to for all the pics, and the front row review, straight from the catwalk.
