Not content with re-popularising the hoody and vintage denim, setting the wheels in motion for the entire fashion schedule to shift and inspiring people to pay £200 for a DHL-branded t-shirt, Vetements is now to take the next step in fashion supremacy: Haute Couture.

The Paris-based collective, helmed by Demna Gvasalia (also Creative Director of Balenciaga), has been invited by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture to show a collection at Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris in July as a guest.

The Chambre Syndicale is "the regulating commission that determines which fashion houses are eligible to be true haute couture houses".

As it is a legal term, designs can only be called ‘Haute Couture’ if they receive approval from the Chambre Syndicale and the fashion house by which they are created meets certain requirements, such as having a workshop in Paris with at least 15 full-time staff.

We can't wait to see what Vetements does.
