The first clue was the catwalk: gold, glittery and fabulous. And then there were the bedazzling shoes, high heeled boots and courts encrusted with gold and silver sequins. ('oh yes', said the show notes, 'walk on a glittering runway with boots made of gold pailettes which dazzle the eyes so you seem to walk on air.')
The title of the collection was 'World Wide Woman' and the global, anything goes theme offered up everything from gold brocade caped and paperbag trousers to batik jumpsuits and slogan-covered knits, all topped of by military helmets and black and white war paint.
But for the finale, there was not a sequin or helmet in sight – just a fairytale white wedding dress made of masses of white tulle, which its model walked down the catwalk while gold confetti rained from the ceiling.
