The sartorial nous of the Norwegian men's curling team lit up the internet this week and with it, kindled some excitement for all things Sochi 2014 at ELLE HQ: while we're not so hot on curling, we do do fashion.

Read on the discover who'd be winning what on the ELLE podium...

Gold: the Norwegian men's curling team

The checkerboard 'pyjama' pants these guys wore to the Vancouver games in 2010 set them on the road to sartorial stardom, and they've cranked up the volume for 2014 with these natty zig-zag numbers.

They each earn a percentage of sales of the designs - which are made by California-based Loudmouth - in Scandinavia. Little wonder that, according to the New York Times, they each own 80-90 pairs and wear them even in practice.

Silver: Team Germany

We hear that spokesperson for the German Olympic Sports Confederation Christian Klaue attempted to quash speculation that the rainbow-striped duffle coats of the German team are a comment on Russia's recent anti-gay propaganda law - a silent protest in support of the LGBT community, if you will.

But Twitter doesn't believe him, and we don't want to, either.

Bronze: Team USA's Opening Ceremony outfits

Homespun knits emblazoned with the stars and stripes, as designed by . Yours for $495.

Honorable mention: Team GB

You're the ones we're rooting for really. Show us the gold!
