Two weeks after giving birth to her daughter Eden, Zoe Jordan might not have been feeling particularly sporty. But her Spring Summer 13 show was exactly that.
The designer's signature streamlined shapes and coolly refined silhouette found new form in California-girl crop tops, billowing maxi dresses and close-cut separates in red suedette.
And the girls had been working out. Seamy glowing skin and too-much-dancing damp hair was the perfect beauty backdrop to a collection that was decidedly younger and freer than previous seasons. Jordan's heavy emphasis on tailoring was distilled down to clean-cut blazers, and angular panel inserts adding a cool stiffness to dresses and tops.
A palette of icy blue and cyclamen pink gradually gave way to a clean print procession that went from pixelated tweed to bold Mexican stripes, with a sprinkling of gold embellishment and a flash of metallic providing the essential party pieces for Jordan’s urbane front-row acolytes. Poppy Delevingne, Sunday Girl and Jameela Jamil were the perfect muses for the breezy jetsetter that the Zoe Jordan look epitomises.
Who needs fuss when you can just throw on a varsity jacket and head for the sunshine?
