If the very idea of dressing for a black-tie event makes you feel twitchy, fear not.

Racil is redefining eveningwear, removing all the stiffness and replacing it with a more fluid, insouciant feeling.

The brainchild of Racil Chalhoub, this collection is for the woman who loves to dress up, but is never ‘formal’.

‘I wanted to create a line that is elegant, but uncomplicated. It's a looser, cooler take on traditional eveningwear,’ she says.

Inspired by her Lebanese mother and grandmother, the Beirut-born, Paris-raised and London-trained designer is ripping up the rulebook.

Take the tuxedo: instead of black and white, she turns out modern versions of the style classic in dusty pink, lemon yellow and light blue.

For SS16, she brings us slinky slip dresses, palazzo pants, extra-long shirts and crystal-encrusted Studio 54-worthy jackets, all made for dancing till dawn.
