Day two of London fashion week and, despite joining the throngs at the always-busy PPQ party the night before there was no chance of a lie-in as it’s a busy day, kicking off with Sister by Sibling. The presentation had tons of gorgeous floral embellishment, which was an uplifting start to the day.
With some time to kill, we met up with some of the photographers and bloggers in the courtyard of Somerset House. We spotted the beanie hat microtrend appearing on many fashion-conscious girls and guys, and also spied the beautiful Poppy Delevingne in some seriously cool House of Holland glasses.
Another noteworthy show was Huishan Zhang- loved the new prints and pretty feminine shapes.
After a dash over to Fashion East to see the oh-so-cool themed rooms by designers Claire Barrow, Ryan LO and a catwalk show by Maarten Van Der Horst it was back again to Somerset House to catch the former Fashion East designer Marques’ Almeida presentation with more amazing denim designs. We snapped one of the models behind the scenes! Also got a sneaky Antipodium backstage shot too later in the day.
Walking around the exhibition spaces we met designer Elliot Atkinson, showing his S/S 13 collection at the Portico rooms. Here he is showing off a key dress from the collection.
Then we caught up with Levi and Matthew, the duo behind Palmer//Harding, who talked us through the SS/13 collection with more fantastic directional shirt designs.
The Rag & Bone show was in a specially erected tent in Sloane Square to celebrate the London store opening. Models walked out five at a time and stood in front of screens that mirrored the backs of their outfits and the audience. And as they walked away they… dissolved.
Heading to the McQ Store opening we played around with the interactive tables that allowed you to open look books and drag images you liked to Facebook or email.
Hooray: when the Moschino Cheap & Chic show ended we were ushered through to a courtyard and served cocktails and pizza, after another sneak backstage to snap the accessories table.
To end the night we made our way over to the Shopbop party at Neo Bankside Apartments, high up on the 17th floor. Each room was curated by a different fashion figurehead with their selects from Shopbop. Incredible panoramic views and Valentine Fillol-Cordier and Alice Dellal DJing till the early hours meant we were tempted to stay up very late. But, no, it’s another early start in the morning…
