Fashion Week is all about glamour, right? Not quite. For those of us about to get on a plane to New York, first stop on the relentless schedule of show season, the next seven days promise a whirlwind of big designer names in the city that never sleeps.
So hurrah for Virgin Atlantic who teamed up with Swarovski to produce an embellished eyeshade – billed as ‘the world’s most expensive’, at an estimated £2,500 – which will be handed out to a select few as they fly in.
For those of us who don’t turn left, Virgin is handing out eyeshades in their new economy amenity kit that are also decorated with ‘sunglasses’, albeit less sparkly ones. That’s one accessory every fashion editor needs.
