Apparently it’s no longer enough to have an awkward sway around the dancefloor to 'Unchained Melody', you need a kickass dance with the potential to go viral online. Because if it’s not on YouTube, it didn’t happen, right?

Jess Brichto, manager of Start The Dance, (a company that offers personalised wedding dance lessons), told The Times: 'In the last year, the demand for choreographed dances has increased by about 30%, and it looks like it’s only going to grow.

Gone are the days of an intimate moment slow dancing with your new husband or wife, it’s all about the big performances. Alexandra Stedman, co-founder of wedding videography company Lucky No. 13, told ELLE that since she started filming weddings, she’s seen a lot more planned dances. ‘[They’re] often kept as a surprise from the guests; for the last one we filmed they pretty much performed one of the lifts from "Dirty Dancing" - it was brilliant!’
