In the 60s she was the style queen of London's King’s Road, in her BIBA boots and Cacherel shirts, now she’s a Brighton-dwelling 70-year-old, with a penchant for oversized accessories and COS dresses. I asked my mum, Jenny, to watch the live stream of the Topshop Unique Show with me. Here’s what she thought

FASHION MUM ON... THE PRE-SHOW ARRIVALS

‘Ooh Erin O Connor – now she looks chic, I love her hair. It’s an up do. So much nicer than all this flouncy hair around the face’.

‘I’m seeing a lot of flat shoes which is great. They are the new sexy’.

‘Lorraine Candy looks good. I love her hairstyle. She looks relaxed. Not like these youngsters who try too hard. Putting themselves on show’.

‘I like that Japanese man with his sash’.

‘Glasses on the top of the head? I thought that went out in the ‘80s’

FASHION MUM ON... THE CATWALK LOOKS

‘You’ve got to have the legs for that split skirt’

‘You can see her crotch. I’m not sure that’s a good look’.

‘I dooo like the cardigans’

‘The embroidery is wonderful. Looks like couture. I’d want that in my wardrobe'.

FASHION MUM'S OVERALL IMPRESSION?

'Now, I personally think Topshop should be more funky. It looked a bit too ‘film star in the south of France’. It didn’t feel very urban or ‘sassy’ if that’s the word. Mind you, I shop in Topshop myself now’.
