Miuccia Prada non-conformist to the core, took the 1920's and early 1960's, putting them through the sci-fi blender to come up with her SS16 show.
THE SET
Up high, it was bare except for the sheets of yellow fibreglass hanging from the ceiling, the same colour as the page of plastic that served as the show invitation.
Down low, it was concrete floors. While curving block benches were provided for the audience and positioned so close to the models that we could've reached out and touched them.
THE HAIR AND MAKE UP
Unconventional: metallic lips. A scooped back futuristic cosmic hair 'do' with slicked down baby hair.
THE STRIPES
In variations- colour and fabric were cut into boxy skirt suits, car coats and dresses.
THE EXAGGERATED DETAIL
Bibs and yokes on dresses in fishnet came laden with plastic discs, culminating in the final outfits in white smothered in plastic decor.
Check out the earrings: baubles.
THE ACCESSORIES
The double bags were back in ever more offbeat colours.
Shoes came flat and pointy in bright suede with metal balls on the toes and there were multiple versions of the midi-heel in primary colours with patent ankle straps.
