ELLE's Senior Fashion Editor Michelle Duguid styles Autumn/Winter 2016's cosiest trend.

'The thing that's so appealing and interesting about Scandinavian style is that they always take colour to a slightly odd place,' explains Michelle.

'Nothing is bright, there are rarely any primaries in the mix - it's all muted.

'In this shoot, the ochres, the off-lime colour and the tobacco shade of the Tu collection really played into this aesthetic,' she continues.

'In the Scandi, minimalist world, shapes are all very simple. I always think, when you're a child, you always draw skirts and jackets in a particular way - A-line and boxy - and that's what this trend is all about.

'The way that you make it 3D is with the checked patterns and the corduroy.

'And the pile of the jumper is incredibly important too. You want to be able to sink your fingers into it and feel that deep softness,' Michelle explains.

'And finally,' she says, 'pair your knitwear with denim, like this great jumpsuit, to harden it up or add a tomboy element to your look.'
