With another Spring collection comes another reincarnation of everyone's favourite hue - yellow.
And before you get at us like 'Did you not even see Beyonce's Roberto Cavalli Lemonade dress of dreams?', we know we're not reinventing the wheel here. Our very own Fashion Features Director Kenya Hunt called it this time last year at the SS17 shows, and to be honest, Big Bird nailed it decades ago.
But, this time it's different.
Forget canary, neon or even lemon yellow, because this season it's all about the optimistic and seasonally appropriate 'egg yolk'.

Hitting the sweet spot somewhere between burnt orange, gold and true bright yellow, 'egg yolk' is the SS18 yellow update that sashayed down runways everywhere.
Think buttercup, but bolder.
Worn top-to-toe in the form of suede trench coats at Derek Lam, high necked 70s-esque dresses at Tibi and full on ballgowns at Christian Siriano and Carolina Herrera, it seems the only way to wear 'egg yolk' is all over.

Not feeling the oeuf?
No problem. Subtler pastel shades adorned floral cold shoulder dresses at Self Portrait, three piece suits at Mansur Gavriel and the slinkiest shipwrecked sequin dress we ever did see at Prabal Gurung.

More of an orange fan? You're in luck. Everyone from Jeremy Scott and Adam Selman, to Diane Von Furstenberg took inspiration from a sunset palette of burnt orange, copper and tangerine for satin slip dresses, jumpsuits and reverse hoodies (yes, they're a thing).

If all over egg yolk feels a bit 'look at me' for your Monday morning meeting, give a nod to the trend with hints of the hue pared back with black and white, Derek Lam style.
