Technology has played heavily on the minds of Paris' designers. In fact Alexander McQueen was so influenced by technology that not only were his laser-cut dresses printed with techno-pixilated sea creatures, but he also decided this season to stream his show live on the internet for the world to watch on the web. Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci and Sophia Kokosalaki also used technologically advanced printing techniques on their fabrics evoking a futuristic, almost apocalyptic air, while Viktor and Rolf used technology to create topsy-turvey tulle gowns that glided down the catwalk. Defying gravity these dresses floated down the runway inches above the floor, with invisible gaps in between sections of a skirt or with whole pieces sliced off and re-suspended as if by magic on other parts of a dress.
