Beyoncé rocks the Superbowl
Beyoncé kicked off 2013 with a scene-stealing performance at the Superbowl half-time show, which included vigorous hair-flicks, a surprise Destiny’s Child reunion and dance moves so fierce the Superdome went into blackout. Once again, Beyoncé proved herself to be a formidable talent, as she presented real energy, real dancing and real singing. The Mrs Carter World Tour was an awesome spectacular too. In May, our favourite footballer David Beckham (ELLE’s July 2012 cover star) announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 38, calling time on his glittering career after 20 years. Beckham was more than just a football player; he was a sporting icon, national heartthrob, global brand and ambassador for Britain. The end of an era, we still have our fingers crossed that his next career phase has a lot to do with fashion.
