Small Steps Project Celebrity Shoe Auction 2013
The Small Steps Projects annual charity auction is back.
Stars from Kate Moss to Vivienne Westwood have donated a pair of signed footwear to raise money for the charity, which provides support and aid to children and their families living on rubbish dumps around the world.
Here, they tell ELLE exclusively about the shoes they donated and why the cause is one close to their hearts.
The Small Steps Project auction runs from 5 to 15 December.
'I am thrilled to again be donating a pair of my favorite shoes to one of my favorite charities, Small Steps Project. I couldn't think of a better reason to give up a gorgeous pair of heels than by supporting this project raising funds for barefoot children on rubbish dumps. It's heartbreaking to think of kids living amongst the mountains of garbage and surviving only by searching through the waste for anything they can eat or possibly sell. What Small Steps does for these kids is so inspiring, and I hope whomever ends up with the shoes feels as excited about supporting the project as I do.' - Helena Christensen
'I wore these at my first Glastonbury, the same year I played the pyramid stage, which was a landmark for me! I'm donating them to Small Steps because it is a great cause.' - Rita Ora
'[I'm donating] a beautiful pair of Burberry shoes I wore to the Met Gala in New York in 2010.' - Emma Watson

'I wasn't exactly sure which shoes to donate to Small Steps - I had an amazing pair of shoes copied from my favourite pair by my dear friend Stephen Sprouse called The Stocking Shoe. They are fabulous and I loved wearing these for personal appearances and for performances on stage. I wish so much someone was still making them! Small Steps is an amazing cause worth one of my favourite pairs of shoes.' - Debbie Harry
'It was a pleasure to give my shoes away to Small Steps. They've shown me a very good time and now i feel they should go on to do better things.' - Florence Welch
