It may look fabulous on the catwalk but at first glance Eccentric Ladyland may not be the easiest of this season’s trends to navigate. How to achieve mis-matched harmony without looking as though you’ve rolled around in a jumble sale?
The key, as ever, is to hint at the trend rather than embracing the whole Grey Gardens craziness of it all. Pick one piece that in certain circles might push the boundaries of taste – a crochet-knit cardi from Christopher Kane , Prada ’s suede and snakeskin knee boots and Marc by Marc ’s velvet zig-zag pencil skirt are your benchmarks. Then wear it with more classic ladylike separates, albeit ones in different shades. And above all? Don’t be afraid to raise an eyebrow or two.
