Kristen Stewart has been a muse to Karl Lagerfeld for quite a while now, but it looks like K-Stew will be moving on up to the next level of Chanel stardom now that she has been cast to play Coco Chanel herself.

Well actually, it’s a little more complicated than that. In the short film, Kristen will play an actress who is preparing to play young Coco.

Karl, who directed the film, told WWD: ‘They make so many movies about Chanel, why can’t I make one?’ And so he did.

This obviously isn't the first time that Kristen has been associated with Chanel: she frequently sits front row at their shows, was the face of their Métiers d'Art Paris-Dallas collection last year, and starred in their eyewear campaign earlier back in April. This time round though, Karl was impressed by how mean she was.

Karl said ‘You only see her in tests and she’s complaining about everything. She’s mean with the director, mean with the producer.' That's just K-Stew for you, full-time badass.

The film will be shown at the Métiers d’Arts show in Rome on 1st December 2015.
