What do models Benjamin Melzer and Loiza Lamers have in common, other than being ridiculously good looking, sharing the most amazing cheekbones and having an ability to work it in front of a camera as well as the Kate Mosses, Karlie Klosses and Cara Delevingnes of the world?

They're both transgender.

In a collaboration between Diesel and Germany clothes company 'About You', Germany's Benjamin Melzer and Holland's Loiza Lamers can be seen posing in an urban-styled shoot wearing hoodies, stone-washed jeans, leather jackets and dungarees.

The pair's breakthrough fashion moment has been captured in a promotional video, which Lamers – who won Holland's Next Top Model last year – shared on her Instagram account with the caption: 'So happy to finally show you the results of my Diesel ABOUT YOU collaboration with transgender model @egoshooter.'

'Proud to represent who we are and what we do,' both wrote in Instagram posts about their collaborative shoot.

Melzer, who was the first trans model to appear on the cover of Men's Health in Europe, told Mic: 'Diesel contacted me for a campaign around the same time Loiza and I were planning on doing a concept shoot to raise awareness to create more opportunities for transgender models in campaigns for major brands.

'Diesel heard the idea and loved it,' he added.

Melzer and Lamers join the likes of fellow transgender models including ELLE's September issue cover star Hari Nef, Andreja Pejic and Carmen Carrera who are changing the face of beauty and fashion, bringing the visibility and recognition of non binary genders to the forefront of popular culture and society.

Fashion world, can we see more of this, please?
