Talk about putting something on blast...
Chanel's AW17 fashion show in Paris was a show like no other this season.
Karl Lagerfeld, who is known for his extravagant sets, took one giant leap further for fashion this March, as he turned the Grand Palais into a space station, complete with life-size rocket ship.
Not only that, but the spaceship came to life during the show, blasting skywards 10 metres towards the domed glass roof of the Champs-Élysées venue.
The rocket was a reported 35 metres high, and it included two launch cabins and two satellite antennas. A little birdy also told us that the whole set took 9 days to build.
Twitter has seen an outpouring of awe-themed reactions to the show, with many remarking that this is Karl Lagerfeld's best and most adventurous stride into the theatrical yet.
The clothes themselves, while incorporating many of the traditional Chanel tropes that we've come to recognise from season to season - pastel tweed, two tone shoes and quilting - also had a whiff of the future about them too.
Metallic space blankets anyone?
Plenty of big names turned up for the spectacle and Bella Hadid walked as had been expected.
Stay tuned for our full review.
