When it comes to celebrity skincare, we're usually pondering how exactly their skin has the taught texture of a new born baby. Is it just the right topical treatments or have there been a few sneaky tweaks going on?

In the case of Olivia Munn's (gorgeous) gravity-defying face, the answer is almost unbelievably simple.

The actress recently shut down surgery claims when she revealed on her Instagram the science behind her flawless skin.

Along with tactically reshaping her brows and the diligent use of mark-fading face pads, Olivia credits a particular Japanese potato for the dramatic change in her skin.

That's right, a potato.

Speaking to The Cut, the actress revealed, 'I watched a news report with Connie Chung about Yuzurihara, Japan. It's called the "City of Long Life," where there are 80 and 90-year-olds with no wrinkles, who do hard labor four to five hours a day. In this area where they live, they can't grow rice, so they grow these certain potatoes: Japanese root potatoes and Japanese sweet potatoes. They're high in hyaluronic acid.

'I get my potatoes from a Japanese market. I'll take one sweet potato, slice it into one-inch-thick slices, and then dust it with olive oil and cinnamon, put it in the oven, and do that as dessert. I'll eat those as often as I can — a couple every day. The root potato is covered in dirt and has a slimy texture like okra. You can boil them or put them into a soup, which takes a little more preparation.'

Hyaluronic Acid is a key ingredient when it comes to anti-aging due to its ability to hold 1000 times its own weight in water. So what better way to ensure it gets into your system than eating foods that naturally contain them?

Not convinced? Well after looking through Olivia's instagram pictures, it's safe to say whatever her skin regime is, it's working.
