With so much focus on New York, London, Milan and Paris you would be forgiven for forgetting about all the other catwalks and FROWs that happen around the world. Last week we packed our bags and headed for Copenhagen to dip our toes into the stylish world of refined Scandinavian fashion.
And aside from a lesson in paired-back elegance, what did we learn? That with a city full of beautiful people, all with long legs, blonde hair and impeccable style, every street is a catwalk.

Anne Sofie Madsen knows how to push boundaries. We loved her motorcycle pants and frilled white leather dresses, marveled at the origami-esq structure of the jackets and came to the conclusion that we will all be wearing orthopedic sandals by next Spring.
An understated athletic aesthetic took center stage at Baum und Pferdgarten. Nothing ground-breaking in terms of design, but a stylish collection of elegant separates that you will really want to wear. We’ve got our eyes on the tango orange pieces and shiny quilted jackets.
The most recognized of the Danish fash-pack, By Malene Birger, put on the event of the week with a sit-down dinner-come-show at the Hotel D’Anglaterre. Malene, the doyenne of laid-back elegance, offered up floor-length silk dresses and embellished eveningwear all mixed in with the classics she is best known for.
This is understated styling at it’s best; an area where the Scandi’s really come into their own. Think long tailored shorts, crisp cotton collars and just the best patent loafers we’ve seen. And we’re definitely
‘Utopia’ was the name of Wood Wood’s SS14 collection, and it came pretty close in our mind. Finding the perfect balance between style and functionality, it was a collection of opposites: boyish silhouettes against feminine fabrics, oversized shirts mixed with body conscious lines and lightweight materials layered over heavy wool.
