Fern RossChief Sub-Editor

This is me and my soon-to-be-husband (on the right) at Green Man festival in 2007, along with the friend who introduced us. We finally got together that weekend, and someone shouted at for snogging outside their tent later that night. Who says romance is dead, eh?

Harriet StewartMarket Editor

This is me with my best friend (and long-standing festival wing-man) Nick on day one of Glastonbury last year, with my trusty party-prop – a disco ball on a stick. We decided it would be a good idea to document the moment before things went rapidly downhill in the looks department…

Harriet StewartMarket Editor

…much like this, taken later on that evening. I look completely mad but that is in fact a face of sheer joy. The Rolling Stones (who I have wanted to see since I was 11) were playing my favourite song, Honky Tonk Woman, and I had just released a glitter-filled confetti cannon into the crowds.

Lorraine CandyEditor In Chief

Watching the sunrise at The Big Green Gathering in Wiltshire in 1995 – the second ever green gathering – is one of my favourtie summer memories. This was a hippy festival, dedicated more to mediatation than music, that is the last time in my life I slept in a caravan though. I spent every childhood summer camping in my home county of Cornwall and vowed never to do it as an adult until this festival…which reinforced my resolve because apart from the sunrise and the rarely spotted (in those days) tipees this was the most uncomfortable night ever!

Colette LyonsActing Content Director

Literally the only time I have been to a festival since 1996 (Glastonbury. It rained. A LOT. And I fell over outside the portaloos. And ditched Radiohead to see Kula Shaker). This was much more civilised – at V festival last year. We watched Beyonce, spotted David Gandy and drank rose. But it still rained (hence the plastic hats).

Susan Ward DaviesTravel and Lifestyle Director

This is me at Glastonbury in 2008, waiting for Jay Z on the main stage. It was the year of all the controversy about having hiphop for the first time, and just before he came on, he screened a brilliant video to Noel Gallagher & co with a compilation of newsreel footage of Clinton, Blair, people on war demos etc etc saying 'no'.

I was clambering on to a concrete rubbish bin for a better vantage point when George Bush came on the screen, and when the people behind started booing, I thought they were booing Jay Z, so turned round to tell them to shut up and fell into the bin. I'm sure Jay Z would have appreciated my support.

Leisa BarnettContent Editor

My best, earliest and only festival memory is of BRMB's Party in the Park 1996. It poured down, but we had our yellow ponchos on and the line-up was legendary: Ocean Colour Scene, Peter Andre, Michelle Gayle, Space, Dodgy, East 17 and Eternal.

The Spice Girls, who had just gotten to Number 1 with Wannabe, were there too, having been excited to be booked when they were unknowns. I found out years later that it was their first outdoor gig as a group. An historic moment!

Claire SibbickJunior Sub-Editor

Squashed at the front of the Pyramid stage, slightly sunburnt, with my friend Sophie at Glastonbury 2011, waiting for Coldplay. We high-fived Simon Pegg, were v close to Gwynnie, and Stella McCartney looked directly at me as we sang along to Yellow. Perfect night. Who needs their ribs intact anyway?

Lisa RahmanArt Director

End of the Road festival in 2011 had many of my favourite Festival moments. Apart from watching one of my favourite bands, Beirut headline, I loved all the extra activities they had to do around the festival.

They had a library in a forest, where we sat under trees, fairy lights, and hundreds of paper origami birds – was all very beautiful, relaxing and magical.

Harriet StewartMarket Editor

Because I couldn’t resist one more…

This is me with all my favourite people at Bestival in 2009, the year we arrived with a 14 man tent and no tent poles. Despite the disastrous camping situation (or total lack of) it was one of the best weekends ever. And this is still one of my favourite photos of all time.

Lucy Johnson Picture Desk

I have too many favourite festival memories! My first cherished festival memory was when I saw Mogwai for the first time (aged 18) at Reading Festival and was speechless for half an hour after as I was so blown away by the incredible sound I'd just heard. Collectively though I stacked up most of my all-time favourite festival moments at ATP (I used to go every year) – nothing tops watching Sonic Youth and Iggy Pop play in a Butlin's food court followed by the infamous chalet parties afterwards, where this photo was taken.
