Remember the good old days ofDawson's Creek?
We're taking a trip down memory lane and reminiscing about our favourite characters (as well as the show's more unexpected cameos), and investigating what they're all up to these days.
Dawson Leery
From his eternally-debatable ‘curtains’ to the slicked-back shaggy mane, our main man, Dawson Leery (played by James Van Der Beek), ushered us through adolescence by showcasing almost every unacceptable hairstyle of the decade.
Post-Creek, actor Van Der Beek has appeared in multiple projects including a Ke$ha music video as well as playing an enhanced parody of himself in ABC series Don’t Trust The B---- in Apartment 13.
Joey Potter
A fresh-faced Katie Holmes played our original tomboy and girl next door. We were constantly torn between rooting for both Pacey and Dawson as her romantic interests fluctuated.
Fast forward several years - and film roles - later, she went on to infamously marry Tom Cruise, and added fashion designer to her extensive CV with her former joint venture Holmes & Yang.
And now? Have a look at the glossy cover of ELLE’s
Pacey Witter
Played by Joshua Jackson, Dawson’s Creek resident class clown Pacey Witter wrote the book on sarcasm. We loved him for his offbeat humour, and empathised with his gloomy backstory. A closet romantic, Pacey was also Dawson’s right hand man, and eventually a competitor for the affections of Joey Potter.
These days, Joshua Jackson enjoys the cool-status that comes with being one part of the oh-so-fashionable couple that makes him and Diane Kruger.
Jen Lindley
Played by Michelle Williams, Jen Lindley was the New York city girl with attitude. Intimidatingly beautiful (enough to make us quake in our then-adolescent boots), Jen had the street smarts and the attentions of every boy in school.
Since the show wrapped up, Michelle Williams paved a place in Hollywood with an Oscar nod for her role as Heath Ledger’s wife in Brokeback Mountain (who she also briefly married and had a daughter with in real-life).
Jack McPhee
Introduced to Dawson’s Creek in the second season, Jack McPhee was played by Kerr Van Cleeve Smith, and started off the show as the shy new kid on the block. After dating Joey for a short while, McPhee became one of the first openly gay characters on primetime TV.
Since the show has wrapped up, he’s appeared in a few series such as Charmed and CSI: NY, but he’ll always be our Jack McPhee.
Audrey Liddell
Busy Phillips starred as Joey’s bubbly college roommate, Audrey Liddell in the show’s last two seasons.
She’s gone on to become a well-known face in Hollywood, appearing in rom-coms such as He’s Just Not That Into You, and – memorably – as one of the hysterical BFFs in the eternally-hilarious White Chicks.
Henry Parker
Henry Parker was Dawson’s Creek’s jock extraordinaire and quarterback star, who embarked on a tumultuous relationship with resident bad-girl, Jen Lindley.
Played by Michael Pitt, the actor has gone on to pursue quite the serious acting career; known for his portrayal as a villainous bootlegger in period drama series Boardwalk Empire, as well as securing roles in films The Dreamers and Seven Psychopaths.
Andie McPhee
Played by Meredith Monroe, Andie McPhee was the enthusiastic and chatty sister of Jack McPhee. As well as a love interest of Pacey, Andie’s character took a turn for the darker side and began to exhibit symptoms of mental illness.
Since the show, Meredith has gone on to star in a slew of popular American television series.
Bob
An unlikely former DC star, in the sixth season America’s funny man Seth Rogan appeared in a cameo as Bob, a college student with a penchant for recreational drug use.
Since then, character-wise, not much has changed. Fast forward several years and Rogan is still holding a torch for stoner Bob as we simultaneously fell in love – and were slightly repulsed – by his character in Knocked Up.
Gwen Stefani (as herself)
She’s just a girl…who appeared on Dawson’s Creek once. That’s right; a scantily-clad Gwen Stefani performed with her punk band No Doubt on the show when a couple of the characters end up sneaking into her concert.
Nowadays, a former ELLE cover star, a successful fashion designer, mother and businesswoman, what hasn’t Gwen Stefani done?
Jack Osbourne (as himself)
Another unexpected alumni of Dawson’s Creek, Jack Osbourne, son of the self-dubbed ‘Prince of Darkness’ Ozzy Osbourne, appeared in three episodes as himself.
Present day, his Twitter bio reads ‘Father, Husband, and General Weirdo’, well there’s certainly no arguing with that…
