A Wear-Everywhere Shirt Dress
All hail the A-line shirt-dress, with it's airy tent-like proportions. Wear with everything from sandals to boots, and layer over a poloneck or long-sleeved tee for added winter warmth.
Anything without a waistband is your friend. Given, this may not last throughout your whole pregnancy, but is great for the first few months when you just need a bit of extra space around the middle. This one-stop-shop approach to dressing involves minimal effort, too.
Boho dresses are by their very nature loose and billowing, so lend themselves particularly well to maternity wear. Wear with Converse now and ribbed tights and boots come winter.
Cudos to Phoebe Philo for deeming the tracksuit trouser (and it's elasticated waistband) fashion-friendly. Avoid looking like you're gym-bound by paring yours with a décolletage-baring top and statement earrings.
What could be better than your favourite jeans customised to feature an elasticated waistband? Donna Ida offer a maternity denim service that do just that, which may also come in handy at Christmas time, pregnant or not.

The Stretchy Maxi Skirt
This is one of the most useful (not to mention comfortable) items you can buy. Wear it over your bump, under your bump, or pull it right up over your bust and wear as a cute bandeau dress.
A dress or shirt belted above your bump is one of the most flattering shapes. Look for something with an integrated belt or try a printed silk scarf tied over a boyfriend-fit shirt instead.
