Instagram's Best Vintage Shops: The Easy Way To Shop Second-Hand

Stylish clothes without the high street footprint

Vintage 2nd Hand

Fast fashion is one of the most damaging industries for our environment. Not only does it reportedly create as many greenhouse gases as Russia in its entirety, there are also ethical implications: men and often women in developing countries are overworked and underpaid to provide the cheap clothes we crave.

Thankfully, there is one (very stylish) way we can combat these issues: buy second-hand.

Now, we love a charity shop as much as the next girl, but it doesn't quite have the ease of your favourite e-retailer. However, we have a solution. Many of our favourite vintage sellers have ensured they have an online presence, which makes perusing their stock a whole lot easier.

Here are some of our favourite UK-based vintage sellers on Instagram...

House Of Vintage

Hidden off just off Brick Lane in London lies ELLE UK's favourite vintage shop. With both men's and womenswear available there is always a perfect white t-shirt, glamorous beaded bag and delicate silk shawl to hand in this treasure trove.

Thankfully, before you make your trip down the bustling Shoreditch hotspot, their Instagram is available for anyone to peruse.

Rebecca Sweeting

Industry secret Rebecca Sweeting has vintage you dare only to dream of. If  Edwardian jackets and Afghan necklaces are your gig then this is the shop for you. Her stuff doesn't come cheap, but quality rarely does.

The Market Cartel

Sitting off a roundabout in an unassuming corner of East London, this American female-run shop is a true bazaar of the previously loved.

The Market Cartel sells everything from camouflage outerwear to kooky homeware, and we've heard they give a good discount if you tell your friends.

Serotonin Vintage

One for the Clueless fans out there, Serotonin Vintage should be your next stop post House of Vintage.

D&G two-piece suits sit next to logo-covered bum-bags in this millennial haven. They also put a lot of their stock up on their Instagram page and are open to talk via DMs.
