There are no hard and fast rules to this diet as hypnotherapist Marissa Peer (who has worked with rock stars and royalty) will talk you through your own personal goals, and what has always stopped you losing weight in the past. But in general you'll be encouraged to give up wheat and dairy and anything unnatural or artificial, so that's sweeteners, diet products, refined foods and junk food.

This means, in essence eating foods in their natural state as much as possible. So for example swap microwave sachets of porridge for whole porridge oats and pre made salad dressings for olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

The foundation of this diet is, of course, hypnotherapy. Once you have discussed your relationship with food, your weaknesses and you ideal goals, weight or size Marissa 'puts you under'. Here you'll be guided through your past relationship with food and shown a way out of negative eating habits. You'll be encouraged to think of yourself as how you want to look and that eating cakes, and sweets will not help you get there.

It sounds impossible, but when you come around you will simply not want to eat the food which in the past has made you put on weight.

No real dieting or will power necessary. The hypnotherapy equips you with the encouragement you need not to over eat, eat food that makes you put on weight or break your new healthy eating regime.

Marissa Peer is based in London, but she does have a book which comes with a hypnotherapy CD - but you'll have to get yourself under.
