Mac announce their autumn/winter collaboration with designer Manish Arora

Manish Arora, Mac

This autumn bold and bright colour is a big beauty trend, and to really drive this point home Mac and fashion designer Manish Arora have created a super bright, Indian inspired, limited edition collection, which launches in October.
Mac have always created the ostentatious make-up looks for the Manish catwalk (the designer now shows on the Paris fashion week schedule), so it made sense for the two to collaborate. The Mac team wanted to work with Manish as he is always ‘pushing the boundaries when it comes to colour, he is exceptionally different and always stands out’ said Jennifer Balbier, Senior Vice President of Product Development at Mac. Indeed Manish’s signature style has always been a maximalistic fusion of cultures which results in a heady explosion of texture and colour on his catwalks, and this new collaboration, from product to packaging, certainly taps into that vibe.

The eye palette, £30, is a rainbow of bold shades that are just perfect for flaunting this season’s geometric, bright eyes, while the bold orange and pink lipsticks, £11, will add snap to your whole winter wardrobe. Blushers, £10.50, are much softer as eyes and lips are the focus for the range, our favourite is Pink Swoon and we’re counting down the days until the collection hits counters - winter’s looking bright after all.

Tamara Mellon is one of the hardest working women in fashion. Not only is she President of Jimmy Choo as well as a director at Halston, it was announced last night that she will join the board of directors at Revlon too.

"I am thrilled to become a director of Revlon, an iconic brand in beauty and one that represents the image of a confident, glamorous woman," she said last night of her new role.

It will mean she (pictured here with boyfriend Christian Slater) now has a say in how Revlon does business. She has of course already worked her magic at Halston. The label received critical acclaim and it's own store within a store at Selfridges this season despite the fact that creative director Marco Zanini quite earlier this year.

The fashion pack can't wait to see the next collection at New York fashion week next month and with Choo on board we're still expecting a luxe, glamorous collection, and maybe even a movie star in the front row too.
