Cobrasnake

Cobrasnake

As far as we’re concerned, anyone deemed cool enough to have their t-shirts sold in Colette is worthy of our attention; Cobrasnake has stickers in there too so he must be super-special. You may not have heard of him but his eponymous website is a cross between the Sartorialist and Dirty Dirty Dancing.com and has earned itself cult status stateside since its inception just over three years ago. The man behind the moniker is LA based photographer Mark Hunter, who trips with friends in tow from the coolest club nights to the hottest fashion parties via flea markets and burger joints, taking candid and compelling snaps of club kids, models and celebrities. Originally known as PolaroidScene.com until the camera company threatened to sue, the website has propelled Hunter to stardom – he has had a column in LA Weekly, shot for Urban Outfitters, been crowned this year’s best nightlife photographer by Paper magazine and rubbed shoulders with the glitterati during fashion week. He’s even credited with creating a star – teenage model and internet it girl Cory Kennedy found fame as his assistant, muse and girlfriend and is now frequently spotted gracing glossy fashion spreads as well as being the muse of designer Jeremy Scott. Check out the Cobrasnake website here – but beware, it’s highly addictive…
