I believe I can pave way to pushing the October Issue into not only being memorable for having been created by interns but also memorable by its own accord. As fashion has now become part of the pop culture lexicon it is fast on its way to rivaling Hollywood, in my opinion, as the new entertainment industry & I want to immediately take hold of that theory and create an issue that will surely make consumers invest their money in.If I win this role I will create a simple yet unforgettable front cover, create fashion spreads that are luxuriously distinctive that will both be of artistic and marketable merit, for as pleasurable as the fashion industry is, the ultimate upkeep is to sell. But sell how you may ask? Not to just promote the seasonal goods on display at your favorite department store, but as tokens of memorabilia that you will remember from those finger-licking fashion spreads that you saw in this issue. I can make all this happen because I am as disciplined as I am passionate and I am artistic as I am educated. Fashion has become social- and I want to use this opportunity at ELLE to create its next conversation.

You see the name 'Editor' on the page and instantly, you know the hard work and commitment that has gone into the making of that issue. That issue, and every other issue before that. You also know that only someone who has the vision and leadership to direct the magazine to where it needs to be could master that role. I believe that person could be me, and that's why I have always dreamed of becoming an Editor. Add the fact that I spend a lot of time talking, thinking of creative ideas and pay a ridiculous amount of attention to detail, and you have me, someone who is not afraid of a challenge and would jump at the chance to work for ELLE.
The past three years of university have moulded me into a fashion journalist, and with that I have learnt and embedded the skills a journalist should have. Creativity, flare, dedication and most importantly, the ability to work to deadline. Having opportunities to create magazines from concept to bound finished product has also been invaluable. I've read ELLE for several years now, and each month, I find myself engrossed in the written content, design, fashion, photography and all other elements that make it what it is today. If anything keeps me enthused and excited, then it's fashion magazines and ELLE definitely has the number one spot.

In this first-ever issue of Edited by the Interns, fashion’s most promising editors, stylists, photographers, writers, art directors, hair and makeup artists, and designers have taken the helm of the October issue of ELLE. It is an honoring, and slightly terrifying task, given to us by the wonderful team at ELLE. In this special edition, they have given us the opportunity to share our passions, visions and thoughts on fashion, which you can read more about in Fashion’s Next Tastemakers.
As an intern, I’ve come to discover how getting into the fashion industry – not to mention surviving it - is not an easy task. Even established designers, writers and photographers sometimes need someone who they can look to for support. In a conversation with his mentor, British fashion designer Christopher Kane talks to Louise Wilson, Director of MA Fashion at Central Saint Martins, about his many ups and downs in the industry.
The talented interns who have joined ELLE for this very special issue, have also put together an editorial of the best High Street buys, in which we revels a new take on this season's trends. We’ve also talked to three wonderful models about their beauty secrets, spoken to elite trainers about what it really takes to get in shape (and staying fit), and written a touching piece on why some relationships are not meant to last.
It is an edition out of the ordinary, one curated by fashion’s most promising young talents, whose dreams lie in fashion, beauty and editorial. It is a testimony to the importance of nurturing and mentoring new talents, which is what ELLE does best.
