Helen MacDonald has won the Costa Book Of The Year 2014 for her heartfelt memoir, H is for Hawk.

Following her father's death, Macdonald spent a year training a goshawk to help deal with her grief; her part memoir, part nature book relays her fascinating and touching personal account.

The Costa Book Of The Year Award recognises outstanding books by authors based in the UK and Ireland, and sees MacDonald scooping the £30,000 prize.

A well-deserved win? Let's just say we're adding it to our reading list right this second.
