Mindy Kaling has been working on a new book for a while now, but the wait is almost over. The Mindy Project star just announced more details about her follow-up to Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns). Which you need to read immediately, if you haven't already.

Why Not Me? comes out on September 29 and picks up where the previous book left off. The essays follow Mindy as she navigates adulthood, her "weird as hell" relationship with ex B.J. Novak, and "attempting to be the first person in history to lose weight without any behavior modification whatsoever."

She also tackles what it's like to be a woman of color in Hollywood. Mindy's website features a few spot-on lines from the new book, and there are some serious zingers:

"Your natural hair color may be appropriate for your skin tone, but this isn't the land of appropriate – this is Hollywood, baby. Out here, a dark-skinned woman's traditional hair color is honey blonde.""Most women we see onscreen are either so thin that they're walking clavicles or so huge that their only scenes involve them breaking furniture."

The cover shows Mindy looking confident and composed, a far cry from the awkward wallflower from the previous book. But it's an easy bet that maturity won't make her stories any less hilarious.
