Alright, so we've all had time to take a breath, get a coffee refill, and re-watch the first official trailer for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life several dozen times. Here are the nine key things we learned from this glorious goldmine of new footage.

1. Rory is having a very early midlife crisis.

While, naturally, trying to pretend she's got it all under control. We learn that she doesn't have a job or even a firm place of residence, instead traveling the world as a (presumably) freelance journalist. "This is my time to be rootless!" she insists, but Emily is not impressed, especially when Lorelai tries to help Rory out by comparing her to Jack Kerouac. Know your audience, Lorelai.

2. Team Jess is in the lead, if you're keeping score.

In the sense that Jess is now the first of Rory's three boys with whom we've seen her interact in the revival, and judging from the trailer they've maintained their friendship. While Rory's putting on a brave face for her family, she confides in Jess that her rootless life is actually freaking her out.

"I have no job! No credit! No underwear!" she complains, briefly channeling Marlon Brando before Jess assures her that she's "still a contender."

But don't despair, Team Logan and Team Dean (is anybody actually still team Dean?). Both your boys are present in this trailer, and both looking objectively very hot–in fact, Jess's shaggy hobo hair is putting him in last place as far as aesthetics go.

3. The Gilmores' metabolisms are still going strong.

In this trailer alone, the following items are consumed: Chinese takeout. Greek takeout. Italian takeout. Hot dogs. Pop-Tarts. Tater tots. Mini doughnuts. And, of course, Luke's coffee. Luke himself remains horrified by their eating habits, which is maybe why he and Lorelai still haven't tied the knot after all these years.

4. We're going to cry a lot.

Like there was ever any doubt. The glimpse we get of Richard's funeral in this trailer is bad enough, and then comes Emily explaining how lost she feels: "I don't know how to do this–I was married for 50 years. Half of me is gone."

Richard's presence will be felt, though… both figuratively, and literally in the form of a more-than-life-size portrait. It's a little ridiculous, but also perfect, and Emily loves it, which is literally all that matters.

5. Paris is rocking a blonde bob.

This is very important hair news. Paris also seems to be back at Chilton–maybe for the same event as Rory in this production still?

6. Rory's going to London.

At least that's how it looks–as Lorelai describes Rory's vagabond lifestyle, we get a quick establishing shot of the London skyline, then Rory in an unidentified office building, followed by another establishing shot of New York.

Now… who do we know who worked in London during the show, and has very good reason to be living there ten years later? Chalk up a point for Team Logan.

7. Luke and Lorelai might be in trouble.

Because in the wake of Richard's death, all three Gilmores are feeling pretty lost. "I thought I knew exactly what I wanted… but lately, things seem hazier," Lorelai says, as we see her on what looks like an existential hiking trip. She insists she and Luke are happy (to someone who looks like a therapist), but clearly something needs to change.

To speculate for a second: we know there's a wedding at some point during the revival. Maybe the thing that needs to change is these two finally putting a ring on it for real?

8. Kirk is at Friday night dinner.

Because why not? But also...why? Potentially the greatest moment of the trailer is Emily's bemused "Explain to me again who this person is?" (made even greater by the fact that she and Kirk have definitely met before).

9. The Gilmore Guys have a cameo.

Demi Adejuyigbe and Kevin T. Porter, hosts of the beloved podcast phenomenon that is Gilmore Guys, are chilling behind Lorelai at the Dragonfly around the 1:05 mark. Altogether weirder is the guy using an exercise ball right beside them, like does he think this is a wood-beamed Equinox? We can only assume Lorelai's about to turn around and put a stop to that nonsense.
