The Queen enjoyed an evening at The Ivy in London's Covent Garden on Thursday night, which is reportedly the first time she has dined out since last year. The monarch was attending an invitation-only party at the exclusive eatery, which closed its doors to members of the public to host the royal soiree, according to The Telegraph.

The Queen was elegantly dressed in an embellished silver dress and grey paisley shawl as she arrived at the private birthday party. Other guests included the Queen's cousin Prince Michael and wife Princess Michael of Kent, and comedian David Walliams.

It's not known what the Queen ordered, but typical Ivy dishes from executive chef Gary Lee on the A La Carte menu include British classics such as Shepherd's Pie at £19.50 ($25.38), deep-fried haddock and chips with mushy peas at £19 ($24.73) and slow braised Cornish lamb at £24.50 ($31.89).

The restaurant also provides delectable asian cuisine including yellow fin tuna sashimi at £16.50 ($21.48), coconut and prawn laksa at £8.75 ($11.39) and black ash sesame tiger prawns for £14.75 ($19.20).

The Queen's visit to The Ivy is a departure from her favorite London restaurant Bellamy's in Mayfair, which is claimed to be the only restaurant in the capital where she has ever dined. She was pictured dining there in March last year with her daughter Princess Anne and Princess Alexandra.

She also celebrated her 80th birthday at the French brasserie and oyster bar, renowned for its exclusive French red wine list.

It was recently reported that the Queen gave her approval to Prince Harry to propose to American actress girlfriend Meghan Markle. Both Harry and Markle will be attending Pippa Middleton's wedding tomorrow.
