Update 14 March: A group of 180 female executives in the advertising industry have come together to launch Time's Up Advertising, the first official industry-specific partnership with the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund.

To start, the group is hosting meetings in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and Toronto (plus an online forum for those outside big cities) today for people in the advertising industry. The goals of the meeting will be to discuss the status quo that has allowed harassment and discrimination to continue and to drive new policies that will encourage change.

'As women in senior leadership positions in advertising, we've agreed that we have the power to change this business we love until it looks more like the industry we want to lead,' reads a 'Letter of Solidarity' on the group's new website launched this week. 'We think the best first step in this process is talking face to face with you.'

Despite launching less than a week ago, the Time's Up campaign has already made a big impression worldwide. As well as securing support from over 300 award-winning actors, directors and producers, including Jessica Chastain, Reese Witherspoon, Shonda Rhimes and Eva Longoria, the campaign has also raised a lot of money for the Time's Up Legal Defence Fund.

Time's Up was set up in response to the widespread sexual abuse allegations that surfaced in 2017. As the campaign's website states, it "addresses the systemic inequality and injustice in the workplace that have kept underrepresented groups from reaching their full potential. An important part of achieving equality in the workplace for women everywhere will be the Legal Defence Fund. Whatever industry a person is working in, they deserve legal and financial support to fight back against sexual assault, abuse, and systemic inequality".

Already, the Time's Up GoFundMe campaign has reached its initial $15 million [£11m] target, and is well on its way to hitting $16 million dollars in the next few days.

The money raised will provide legal support to women and men who have experienced sexual harassment, assault, or abuse in the workplace.

Celebrities including Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington and Rashida Jones thanked everyone who has donated to the fund so far in an Instagram video:
