The Time's Up movement invaded the red carpet in more ways than one during Sunday night's BAFTA Film Awards (February 18).

Joining a procession of celebrities and nominees who were once again decked out in black to continue to raise awareness of the movement to end sexual discrimination, inequality and abuse in Hollywood and other industries; was a group of protestors wearing 'Time's Up, Theresa' shirts.

Despite its invasion, the group was invited to lie down on the red carpet for a photo opportunity, before being eventually led away.

So, yeah. Things really are different this year.

Sisters Uncut, a feminist group taking action against domestic violence, are taking credit for the protest, which saw its members lie down in the middle of the carpet.

It's thought they are urging Theresa May to provide better support for survivors of domestic violence and more funding for refuges.

'We crashed the red carpet at the to say Time'sUp, Theresa: the government must support all survivors of domestic violence,' it said.

'Theresa May's upcoming Domestic Violence Bill is a dangerous distraction. Survivors will be locked up by a harmful criminal justice system, locked out of refuges or locked into violent relationships.

'Survivors are already being arrested when they report abuse, and giving the police more power will increase this. 57% of women in prison have experienced domestic abuse.

'The police and prisons are no solution to domestic violence. Give power back to survivors: fund refuges and specialist domestic violence services.'
