There have been some crackin' performances on this year's BRITs so far: Sam Smith, Foo Fighters, Dua Lipa and, obviously, Ed Sheeran. Or Ed Shirran as Elton John pronounces it.

But there was one that had everyone a little bit confused, and that was Kendrick Lamar's performance.

It started with Jack Whitehall introducing the star to the stage by saying that he was "the greatest living rapper". Right next to Stormzy. lol.

When the music started, Kendrick was lying on the roof of a car still as can be. Then there was silence. And everything went dark. Then after some more of that, for what felt like a lifetime, Kendrick finally started rapping.

But was that how it was meant to go down or were there some technical issues? We wouldn't be surprised, especially as earlier in the night that nice lady from the Gorillaz had her acceptance speech cut off early, as in SOMEONE LITERALLY TURNED HER MICROPHONE AND THE LIGHTS OFF.

Oh yeah, then 97% of his performance was muted. Good times...

Anyway, whether it was meant to be like that or not, Twitter was incredibly confused.

It wasn't all bad though: Kendrick picked up the award for Best International Solo Artist earlier in the night. Very nice.
